Crain Ford Chenal to move to new WLR location after $3 million land buy

According to THV's partner, Arkansas Business, a new home for Crain Ford Chenal in west Little Rock is in the works after a $3.2 million land purchase.

The dealership will relocate south to a 7.5-acre site near the northwest corner of Interstate 430 and Col. Glenn Road.

Crain Investments Ltd., led by Larry Crain Sr., bought the property for about $9.85 per SF. The seller is Colonel Glenn Bowman Road Development I LLC, led by Leonard Boen and Hank Kelley.

The dealership represents the first project to start construction at the Village at Brodie Creek, an 80-acre mixed-use development.

Ground breaking for the project, which should be completed in a year, is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday. The business is among 10 dealerships in central Arkansas operated by the Crain Automotive Team.

Fire station to be built at Rahling Road, Taylor Loop

Groundbreaking for a new Little Rock fire station is scheduled to be in the next few months at the corner of Rahling Road and Taylor Loop.

A $2 million grant from FEMA will fund the building of the new station as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

The building was first announced in February by Mayor Mark Stodala and other city officials, as a way to keep the ISO rating in Ward 5 at a 2, which will help keep insurance rates from rising.

The project has just undergone an environmental review. Once it’s started, Little Rock spokeswoman Meg Matthews said it is scheduled to be finished within a year.
