Little Rock hosts "Operation Drug Take Back" in multiple locations

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Have any unused or expired drugs?

On Saturday, April 25 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., there will be several locations in Little Rock collecting and properly disposing of unused or unwanted drugs. 

Some of the locations include:

  • Little Rock Police Department at 700 W. Markham
  • Arkansas Children's Hospital at #1 Children's Way
  • Remedy Drugs at 8511 West Markham
  • Walgreens at Cantrell and Taylor Loop

The Little Rock Police Department will also be offering free food and entertainment at their event. They encourage anyone with expired prescriptions or even over-the-counter drugs to bring them to one of the listed drop-off points.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - A moving sale is being held Saturday, April 25 at 230 Kingsrow Dr. in Little Rock, Ark. 

The moving sale will begin at 8 a.m. and will last until 3 p.m.

Some things being sold at the moving sale include:

  • antique dining room table and hutch
  • work bench
  • antique dressing table
  • metal cabinet

Turkish Food Festival serves up fun in LR


WEST LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The Fifth Annual Turkish Food Festival was serving up authentic recipes to Little Rock residents Saturday.

This event was held on Market Street out in West Little Rock. The celebration, organized by Raindrop Turkish House, offered up food, culture and art from the Turkish community here in central Arkansas

"It's not only food when you look at it. Food is the common ingredient for everybody," said Mehmet Ulupinar.

Raindrop Turkish House is a non-profit group originally started in 2000 by Turkish-Americans in Houston. They have chapters like the one here in Arkansas in seven other states across the mid-south.

Officials investigate North Little Rock fatal fire

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV)- Two North Little Rock residents are dead after an overnight blaze scorched the home on Tuesday. Fire inspectors say the two were found sleeping in the attic. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

Fire Marshall John Pflasterer explained the department was puzzled to find the couple there in the first place. He has worked for the department for 20 years. "The first for the department," said Pflasterer. "So it is very unusual."

Pulaski, Saline Co. see 12 arrests on 23 active felony bench warrants

UNDATED (KTHV) - Twelve individuals were taken into custody Monday, March 30 on 23 active felony bench warrants. 

The Saline County Sheriff's Office joined up with the Benton Police Department, Bryant Police Department and the United States Marshal's Service to conduct the arrests. According to officials, there were six teams comprised of over 30 deputies, U.S. agents and K-9 units holding the investigation.

 Following are the names, race, sex, ages and charges of the people arrested:

1.      Suzie Cox                    W/F     30 YOA          FTA for hot checks

2.      Constance Jackson    B/F      45 YOA          FTA for narcotic violations

Monthly food truck meet up in West Little Rock

WEST LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (LRS) – According to Little Rock Soiree, you can now find your favorite food trucks at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church on the fourth Monday of every month.

The magazine said you can expect the trucks to open shop between 5 and 8 p.m. at 20900 Chenal Parkway. It kicks off March 30.
